Hayboy is the project of songwriter and producer Daniel Brown, whose music blends rock, alt-country, and shoegaze with sharp, reflective lyrics. Written and recorded during years of medical school and residency, Hayboy’s debut album What Rough Beast captures the push and pull between structure and chaos. The record was made with longtime collaborator Lang Freeman (Sounds Under Radio, Live, Dustin Kensrue of Thrice) and a group of friends from Mamalarky, Ringo Deathstarr, Bully, Manchester Orchestra, and Sun June. The upcoming single “Smartness & Dollars” arrives ahead of the eight-song debut and an upcoming run of solo tour dates.
